The CCNP certification (Cisco Certified Network Professional) indicates advanced or journeyman knowledge of computer networks. With a Cisco CCNP certification, a network professional can install, configure, and troubleshoot local and wide area networks for enterprise organizations with computer networks from 100 to more than 500 nodes. The Cisco CCNP certification course content emphasizes topics such as security, converged networks, quality of service (QoS), virtual private networks (VPN) and broadband technologies. Prerequisites: Valid Cisco CCNA certification. Can not be expired. * Commonly used networking terms and topologies * Computer training on one or more operating systems * The basic functions of a computer network protocol * Fundamental network device roles (e.g., hub, bridge, router, and switch) * The Open System Interconnection (OSI) reference model * The use of Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003 to run multiple applications * Accessing the Internet or an intranet * Binary and hexadecimal numbering * IP subnetting for classless (CIDR) and classful routing subnets Objectives: Demonstrate important knowledge and skills necessary to select, connect, configure, and troubleshoot the various Cisco networking devices including Extending Switched Networks with VLANS, Determining IP Routes, Managing IP traffic with Access Lists, Establishing Point-to-Point connections, and Establishing Frame Relay Connections. Demonstrate important knowledge and skills necessary to use advanced IP addressing and routing in implementing scalability for Cisco routers connected to LANs and WANs; build scalable multilayer switched networks; create and deploy a global intranet, and implement basic troubleshooting techniques in environments that use Cisco multilayer switches for client hosts and services; describe, configure, operate, and troubleshoot WAN and remote access solutions; and, troubleshoot sub-optimal performance in a converged network environment by passing: Cisco Exams: 642-801 BSCI 642-811 BCMSN 642-821 BCRAN 642-831 CIT
The 642-801 Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks exam is a qualifying exam for the CCNP®, CCDP®, and CCIP ™ certifications. The BSCI exam (642-801) tests materials covered under the new Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks (BSCI) course. The exam will certify that the successful candidate has important knowledge and skills necessary to use advanced IP addressing and routing in implementing scalability for Cisco routers connected to LANs and WANs. The exam includes topics on describing and implementing advanced Spanning Tree concepts, VLANs and Inter-VLAN routing, High Availability, multicasting and specific security features in switched networks.
