The ACES Certified Professional Data Cabling Installer CAT 5 / Cat 6 Network Certification (PDCIC) will gain the knowledge and skills to correctly install, test, certify and troubleshoot Category 5, Category 5e and Cat 6 network structured cabling links, basic telephone wiring, and coaxial cable used in the ISP (Inside Plant Setting). Students are provided with take-away installer tool kits, trained on the use of standard High Speed Networking certification testers, practical and written certification tests are given on the last day of class. Students leave this class with their tool kit in hand and are fully equipped and ready to go to work. This course will teach the student the current industry CAT5 and CAT6 EIA /
TIA standards and the required hands-on skills and tools for proper termination of Twisted Pair wire terminations, basic telephony terminations and coaxial cable connections. The student will have demonstrated the use of the Level III cable certifier and other cabling test equipment. Prerequisites: There are no formal prerequisites for the ACES PDCIC Certified Professional Data Cabling Installer, however, the student should be physically able to handle normal hand tools, climb a 10 foot ladder and have normal depth perception. Objectives: Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in the installation, testing, validating, and troubleshooting of data cabling and connectors by passing: Alternatives: As an alternative to this one-type-of-infrastructure training, HyperLearning Technologies also offers a combined Copper AND fiber installer certification class, which is offered at a substantial savings over the cost of taking the classes individually.
