"I have been able to help the Network Administrator numerous times, since receiving my CompTIA Network + certification. My company is now requiring the rest of the helpdesk staff to become CompTIA N+ certified." -Devin Glenn, Computer/Network Technician (Quoted from www.CompTIA.org web site.)CompTIA N+ certification validates the knowledge and skills of networking professionals. It
is an international, vendor-neutral
certification that recognizes a
technician's ability to describe the
features and functions of networking
components and to install, configure and
troubleshoot basic networking hardware,
protocols and services. CompTIA N+
certification is REQUIRED by DoD 8570.1
M for Information Assurance. Although not a
prerequisite, it is recommended that
CompTIA Network+ certification candidates have at
least a
CompTIA A+ certification.
The demand for skilled CompTIA N+ certified network support professionals continues to growCompTIA Network+ certification (also referred to as CompTIA N+ certification or CompTIA N-Plus certification) is a valuable credential to help start or enhance a networking career. In fact, many IT certifications integrate CompTIA Network+ certification into their curriculums. Microsoft added CompTIA N+ certification into their Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) program, and other corporations such as Novell, Cisco, HP, Lotus and 3Com also recognize CompTIA Network+ as part of their certification tracks. CompTIA N+ certification is a valuable credential that will help you begin a successful networking career. From installation to troubleshooting, employers know CompTIA Network+ certified technicians have the knowledge and skills to successfully complete the job. Adding a CompTIA N + certification to your resume will prove to employers your abilities to keep their networks up and running. In many years as a trainer, I have found that MOST courses can be self-studied, by a skilled and dedicated person, with a great deal of persistence. CompTIA N+ certification is an exception! I have seen very few people successfully self-study and pass the CompTIA N+ certification. Even those who start off, feeling like they know a lot about networking, will find N+ to be a challenge, and which will require instructor-led classes to master. Furthermore, for those people who will be going on to MCSA and MCSE, they will find that, when they hit the 70-291 Microsoft certification exam, those who have mastered CompTIA N+ will find 70-291 to be challenging - but will pass it. Those who have not mastered N+ certification will often find the 70-291 exam to be too hard for them. HyperLearning Technologies strongly recommends N+ certification, BEFORE starting on an advanced MCSA or MCSE course - even for experienced administrators. In 2004, the US Department of Defense (DoD) established Directive 8570.1: Information Assurance Training, Certification and Workforce Management. It requires that all DoD Information Assurance technicians and managers be trained and certified. CompTIA N+ certification is an approved certification that meets DoD requirements.
