ABOUT THE TRAINING

This one-day instructor-led course provides students with the knowledge and skills to prepare for exam 70-282. It includes six hours of training followed by the two-hour exam. After completing this course, students will be able to:

  • Identify the skills and knowledge necessary to take exam 70-282.
  • Understand the type and format of questions that will appear on exam 70-282.
  • Identify tips and techniques to facilitate the examination process.

After students pass the exam, they achieve Microsoft Certified Small Business Specialist,  Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) status and their partner organization can sign up as a Microsoft Small Business Specialist. Students can also earn credit toward Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) on Microsoft® Windows Server® 2003 certification.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

This course is intended for IT professionals who work with small and medium-sized organizations. These professionals include product resellers, service providers, in-house technology experts, self-employed business proprietors (the "do-it-yourself" crowd), and owners or employees of OEMs and system builders.

PREREQUISITES:

Before attending this course, students must have:

  • A minimum of one year's experience working with Windows Server 2003 and Windows® Small Business Server 2003.
  • Experience designing solutions for small and medium-sized companies using Windows Server 2003 and Windows Small Business Server 2003.
  • Experience working with Internet Information Services (IIS).
  • Experience working with Microsoft® Exchange Server 2003.
  • Experience working with Microsoft® Windows® SharePoint® Services.
  • Experience working with Internet Security and Acceleration Server
In addition, it is recommended, but not required, that students have completed:
  • Course 2395: Designing, Deploying, and Managing a Network Solution for a Small- and Medium-sized Business.

This workshop is presented in one day covering the following topics:

Module 1: 70-282 Exam Objective Review

This module expands on the official Microsoft exam objectives. A review of each major objective is followed by a series of questions that are reviewed with the instructor. Prior to attending this class, all students will receive and review the questions in preparation for the course. The exam review will cover the following topics:

  • Supporting and Maintaining Small Business Server 2003

Module 2: Understanding Exam Methodology

This module explains what should be expected when taking an official Microsoft exam. This module also provides some tips and techniques to help in preparing for an exam. In this module, students are exposed to sample questions that follow the same format as those presented in Microsoft Certification Exams.

Module 3: 70-282 Practice Exam

This module prepares students for the actual Microsoft exam. Students are presented with a paper-based exam, with question similar in format to the official Microsoft exam. The practice exam is reviewed as a group with the instructor.

This module is a fast-paced Q&A to test the knowledge of participants and sharpen their skills. Students will challenge each other during a fun, interactive activity designed to reinforce the concepts taught during the course.

Overview:  The SBSC On-Boarding Program for FY07 is focused on certifying Microsoft Partners world wide in the Small Business Server ( SBS ) 2003 exam 70-282 using the Partner channel to deliver the training and certification.

Q. What is the form factor for delivering this training and the associated exam?

A. This program is based around a one-day bootcamp course which includes 6 hours of training followed by the exam. The exam prep is Course SBSBoot: Designing, Deploying, and Managing a Network Solution for a Small and Medium-Sized Business

 Q. Is one day enough time to prepare for this exam?

A. This exam preparation course is not intended as complete training to pass the exam, it is a review or culmination of experiences that refine the student’s knowledge as final preparation to earn certification. 

HyperLearning Technologies also offers an optional 3-day MS 2395 Designing, Deploying, and Managing a Network Solution for a Small- and Medium-Sized Business Tailored for Configuring and Maintaining SBS Standard Edition for Business Technical Support and SBS Consultants, in the 3-days prior to this event.  If you register for both events in a "4-day package" you will save $195 less than the published price for both programs.  You get the 3-day instructor-led training, a Transcender practice test, the book, the 1-day bootcamp, and the on-site certification exam.  Walk-away CERTIFIED!

 Q. Are there prerequisites for this exam preparation course?

A. Yes. Before attending this course, students must have:

Q. What course content will be used for this course?

Q. What does the class cost the student?

A. The price is $375 for the class, the training media, the practice test, and exam.  If you are NOT pre-taking the 3-day HyperLearning MS2395 course, you should also order and study the Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2 Administrator's Companion book.  This book can be ordered from HyperLearning Technologies, when registering, for an additional $50.

Q. What if the Learning Solution provider has a current testing center but not enough seats to test the required student volume at the same time?

A. The Learning Solution provider can set up a mobile testing center that either expands their testing center temporarily OR may expand their testing center into their own classroom for this program.  HyperLearning Technologies will have an available testing seat for every registered candidate to take the exam immediately after the bootcamp.
